TRANSLATING LONDON’s CULT STATUS ICONS TO NEW YORK CITY’s local scene
01 / THE OPPORTUNITY
Following his surge of popularity in London's art scene, Slawn was ready to make his mark on New York with the Saatchi Yates Gallery. The opportunity was to translate that cultural momentum into a major US moment, introducing his distinctive creative world to a new audience.
02 / THE COLLABORATION
Working with Saatchi Yates, we brought Slawn on W18th to Chelsea, creating a cultural moment timed with the World Cup finale. His largest exhibition to date brought together new paintings, football-inspired sculptures and the artwork featured on Nigeria's third kit.
The experience extended beyond the gallery, with a collaborative flag installation by Asspizza, a live performance by Thelonious and an exclusive Slawn × Nike shop featuring pieces from his Team Nigeria collaboration.
03 / THE IMPACT
The show introduced both Slawn and Saatchi Yates Gallery to a new US audience while reinforcing their position at the intersection of art and youth culture. The gallery was covered in widespread media coverage such as Hypebeast.
